WELLS LAMONT 546XL WORK GLOVES. POLYESTER KNIT GLOVES WITH NITRILE COATING. These Wells Lamont gloves feature a thin, textured nitrile rubber coated palm and a thin stretch nylon back. The palm area contracts moderately when you press the palm together. The gloves have a latex coating that is thin enough to be used for snow removal in a car and also has enough dexterity to be used as driving gloves. The rubber is untextured to prevent very slippery items from slipping out of your hands. The gloves are best used as summer gardening or construction gloves and as they don't have a fluffy insulating lining I don't find them very useful for winter outdoor work. They give you good shovel grip and keep your palms dry, but they're not lined. Size XL is oversized and has enough room to put on a pair of thin-lined gloves. These gloves are not loose enough to wear a pair of wool gloves as liner gloves as they cut off blood flow to the fingers and make fingers cold instead of warm. These gloves are not fully waterproof and are not ski gloves, so they cannot be used to fully immerse hands in icy water or used outdoors for long periods of time in winter. They can be machine washed. If you are not using them with a wool lining, buy your normal glove size. Size XL is the largest size they make but it runs big and is actually XX. If you normally wear a size XX, you may not even have room for a pair of thinly lined gloves.
