Review on 🧳 Coghlan's Silicone Travel Bottle: Your Perfect On-the-Go Companion by Joe Griggs

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Oh my god, they are big! Although they work great. Just not for me.

I tried to order something bigger to use as a hanging sanitizer bottle as I'm exposed to a lot of people and don't want cross contamination. However, they are too big for me. (I mistakenly thought my current one was 2 ounces and therefore only slightly larger, but it looks like it's closer to 1.5 ounces I think.) This makes it a bit difficult for me to use it for other purposes a lot good to rate. .What I can say is that they have a really good design. On the one hand, they prevent leakage very well. It's probably especially great if you're actually traveling as you don't really want shampoos or anything of that sort seeping through your stuff. Not only do they have a tight lid, but they also have a small extra membrane that helps prevent leakage even when the lid is open. For the most part, this is a pretty clever design, but it seems to have a flaw. This membrane doesn't really want to let anything through. When you click, you have to cross a certain "threshold” before something is finally released. In other words, instead of just getting a dab when you want, you have to squeeze until a reasonable amount comes out. So not only is it a sanitizer that you're likely to get too much of (in fact, you can get just the right amount with a sanitizer), but if you're using it on soap, shampoo, or whatever, you're probably getting too much every syringe. So one of its biggest pros is actually turning into a pretty big scam I think. They do need to be a lot more airtight than many of the other options, though, and as a general rule they'll probably do well wherever their larger size is more ideal.

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • so far so good
