Unfortunately, this vacuum cleaner is not suitable for cleaning dirty aquariums. This will likely help keep the reservoir clean, but it starts out with good suction for about a minute, picks up dirt, and then gets too clogged to keep picking up. I then have to run to the bathroom to clean the filter element, which takes about five minutes for every minute the tank is cleaned. It's badly designed. If instead of a filter built into the side of the device, a filter bag would hang on it, in which dirt could accumulate, but at the same time the pumped water could freely pass, then everything would be fine. So to clean the fish tank, I spend more time cleaning the filter than the fish tank.
