When I bought the Specter CAI kit this gasket was recommended to me. After researching if there would be any benefit to getting one I figured why not even though the reviews and results of use were everywhere. Several reviews said the CAI was closer to the engine fan, but in the case of my 2011 Silverado 1500 with a 4.8 liter engine, there was plenty of room. It mounts very easily, but the torque settings for the throttle body are a bit higher than what the included bolts can handle. I got close but thought the bolts would break soon. But they didn't, and that was okay. Mileage is neutral as I currently have no references. But I suggest if you have the space, go ahead and dump this bad guy with your new CAI.
