I found Fake-Bake at Revain a few years ago when I stopped using tanning beds after my father had skin cancer. I've tried everything from drugstore brands to $50-a-tube Sephora products and I haven't liked any of them. Fake Bake is by far the fastest and most natural product. I have used both lotion and spray. The lotion is lighter for me, but the spray gives a more intense color. That's easy. Chaos. I've seen other reviewers elaborate on this so I won't go too crazy with advice. but I can't stress enough how important it is to prepare for these products and give them time to develop. When I say prep, I mean exfoliation! Take a good scrub (I use a homemade sugar and olive oil scrub) and exfoliate every inch of skin where you intend to apply it. Don't be afraid to scrub thoroughly. Immediately after your shower, when your skin is towel dry, put on rubber gloves (don't let this stuff touch anything that won't tan) and rub it into your skin in an even layer like you would a regular lotion. If you spray, use the included applicator. Plan to do nothing for at least 4-6 hours afterward. If possible, stay as naked as possible for the first hour to ensure you are 100% dry. Then put on loose clothing and go to bed. Preferably overnight. This gives the color time to develop and you don't have uneven clothing or sweat stains. Will it work if you don't? Sure, but you want it to look good, and things can go wrong if you're not careful.
