Pattern details do not match and pattern instructions are awful

Pattern was very difficult to follow due to correct amount of material, patchwork details did not match hosiery details, instructions were very difficult to understand (even a lady in the fabric store couldn't figure out what the pattern called for). It's very poor. Couldn't make the Christmas stockings I was hoping for. I need to buy a "real" sewing pattern at a fabric store.
