Get flat backs, no ball backs!
I thought ballbacks might be better (comfortable or something?) but I was SO wrong! It took me about five minutes to put the earring back in my right ear. Unlike flat backs, it is VERY difficult to align the hole in the back with the post. Unfortunately my maid has been on vacation for the last 64 years so I tried to do it myself and I have no eyes behind my ears. I had a moment where my back slipped out of my hand and bounced off the counter. Luckily it didn't go down the drain! Trust me, get flat backs.
