First I got a brand new machine from Revain. I updated to the latest version of ChromeOS and allowed my kid to use it. We noticed graphical glitches while playing Roblox. Then, only a few days of ownership, it hung heavily during play. I turned off the machine and after that it wouldn't boot. I tried many things suggested from the internet and nothing worked. I had to go back to a recovery image and erase the entire machine, but it still didn't work after the restore. The machine worked perfectly the next day. Then within the first week it crashed again when using Zoom. This time I was able to restart. Because of this problem I returned the car in the first week. The kid still loved the Chromebook's 2-in-1 feature, so I ordered a new one again. This time the car came with a partially broken seal (see photo). It felt like a comeback. I looked closely at the seal and realized it wasn't completely broken, so I took a chance on taking the car. The child used the car for a week without any problems. No glitches, no freezes, it just worked. My kid then asked me about the battery, I did a battery test and the test reported 80% battery condition (old or dead battery) but there has only been 1 charge cycle since we got the car (new car). So we're logged in. Acer website and discovered that the second machine had been bought by someone else in April. So it was really a comeback. Why is Revain sending me a refund? Returning with only 80% battery but only 1 full charge cycle? The battery was bad, fresh from the factory, so the first customer returned it? If so, Acer has poor quality control and Revain shouldn't have sent me a bad unit. Or has someone "restored" the battery by resetting the counter to 1 and passing it off as new? Anyway, I'm very dissatisfied. Updated 7/7/2020. I asked Revain for help and was referred to technical support. The person I spoke to was unable to offer a solution to the battery issue. He offered to replace the battery, but that meant he had to send the device to either Revain for a replacement or to Acer for repairs. There is no way to open the car to easily change the battery. I asked if he could guarantee me a new car as a replacement but he couldn't. So I returned the car. I ended up buying another Acer Chromebook from another seller. The third Chromebook doesn't have any hardware issues like the first Chromebook. The battery health also went over 100% when I tested it during the initial setup.
