This product used to consume a lot of heat as a "bottle ejector" but I've never experienced anything like it. Okay, I'll admit when I jumped the curb BOTH bottles went off at the same time as the rear wheel hit the curb, but that was the only time and the circumstances were unusual. I've ridden them a few hundred miles and had no issues with them slipping or breaking at the attachment point - just use common sense and tighten them properly. Under normal driving conditions, it keeps the cylinders secure and makes them easily accessible. If you're worried, just use the elastic band as a tie. Don't believe negative reviews. This is a very good deal for the price. Revision of July 17th: I broke the head of a bolt while driving, the butt plate came loose and was lost. I couldn't fix it. This is a fundamentally flawed design. Instead, I got a Profile Design holder. Much better design, but also more money.
