Review on πŸ“Έ Peak Design Clutch CL-2: Quick-Attach and Adjust, Black Hand Strap by Melissa Warren

Requires camera and photo redesign

I had to change this to make it even useful because if one end of the strap is attached to a tripod mount the entire geometry will be wrong. If you pull it too hard, the camera presses too hard against your palm, making it difficult for your thumb to reach the buttons on the back and even for your index finger to reach the shutter button. I fixed these issues by replacing the included tripod mounting plate with a 3" long plate. This plate rotates and moves, which now allows me to move the strap attachment point to a position 2" BEHIND the camera. This allows the strap to attach the camera to my arm without putting the buttons out of reach. But wait, that's not all. The small security clip that keeps the strap from detaching from the ring mysteriously disappeared one day without realizing it. I went to loosen/adjust the strap and without warning, $2,500 worth of gear fell free. Thanks to my feline reflexes and excellent agility (not to mention the beautiful looks that superior intelligence and the huge hands. I'm a single woman.) That random quick release feature isn't what I'm looking for in camera straps seek. I attached it with a piece of wire to hold the loop on the hook. Ugly but effective. Most recently I've just noticed that the tape is beginning to fray or break at the point where the loop material attaches to the large final material. This after 6 months of regular use. As I mentioned earlier, I don't appreciate the occasional quick release feature on camera straps. I can't fix this, so it's time to pull the plug.
