Review on 💪 Ultimate Power Solution: BESTEK USB Travel Power Strip with 8 International Adapters, 5-Port 40W USB Charging Station and 2-Outlet Surge Protector by Jeff Bridgewater

Used with 3 adapters on vacation in Egypt/Jordan. 2 iPads, 2 Android phones, 2 cameras charged. No issues or issues to report. Observations: 1) The active USB hub is a bit bigger and heavier than I would have liked, but it is very reliable and works perfectly. 2) The adapters are universal and can be used without USB power. hub3) The socket side of each adapter is designed to accept a variety of plugs (see photo). The adapters made secure contact with the various wall sockets we encountered without the risk of them falling out. This should only be interesting for inexperienced users and applies to 99% of the adapters, provided they do not pretend to be voltage converters. Just make sure you understand the difference between 220/240v at 50hz and 110v at 60hz! 5) For some inexplicable reason, the USB powered hub was frustratingly slow when I first tried to charge my iPad 2. Whatever was causing this problem went away with subsequent use and the charger now matches the power of my 40w home hub. The problem no longer occurred6) The powered hub heats up only slightly when all 5 ports are used to charge completely drained devices. I would rate the thermal performance as excellent, with one star, because this combination could be optimized in terms of weight and size - it is very good, but far from perfect. If only a 3-pin connector from a USB powered hub could fit on the connector side of the adapter, they could probably be lighter and less bulky. Overall, it's a no-fuss solution, very reliable, and gets the job done. I will use this combination on future trips abroad.
