If you're looking for a budget-friendly noise-cancelling (note I didn't say noise-cancelling) headset for use on an airplane, the Sony MDRX110NC is a really good buy. If you are looking for a headset that truly cancels out all noise, you will be disappointed in this purchase. Pros: - They do a good job of reducing aircraft engine noise (which is why I bought them). - Compact due to foldable design. - Headphone design that works very well when you wear glasses. - Price, price, price. Cons: - Not the best sound, so if you're looking for Bose-like quality, stop here. - I found the cable length to be a bit shorter, but of course that wasn't a deal breaker. You just have to turn on the switch to make them do their job, without them they are no better (maybe even worse) than the free headphones that come with every smartphone. Both my wife and I have used the kit we have on business trips. Having just booked a trip to Europe I just bought a second set so we could both have for a long flight. For the price, these headphones are good enough that if something happened to them I wouldn't feel nearly as bad as paying $300-$400 for better headphones.
