The tester is excellent for measuring voltages. It's not a meter, so it won't tell you exactly what voltage you're at, but it can tell you if you're dealing with 120, 220, 277, or 480. It vibrates and glows. The continuity tester lights up with only one LED. There are no sounds or other signs, so rely on your eyesight. The test leads are protected by sliding sleeves that retract and spring forward to protect the metal leads. The sleeves can be rolled up a little, then they stay behind and don't jump forward. Overall it's a good continuity tester, but if I were to buy it again I would look elsewhere for a tester that makes noise when I have continuity, or maybe even a tester with leads that you attach clips to like "crocodile" " can attach.
