I bought this lens from DavisMAX (seller on Revain's marketplace). I took my lens and put it on the camera (it worked really well). However, when I opened the lens, I noticed that my box was missing warranty information. I called Revain, who made an inquiry to DavisMAX. DavisMAX told me they gave me great service and automatically enrolled me in the Tamron warranty program (at first I thought they were such nice people). I then requested a copy of the warranty terms, whereupon DavisMAX advised me to search the Tamron website for the standard terms I was entitled to. Luckily I spoke to Tamron's warranty department and they told me that they had a longstanding issue with this DavisMAX on the Revain marketplace and that DavisMAX was essentially selling GRAY MARKET products through Revain. For those of you unfamiliar with the gray market. Products are products sold through international distributors and imported into the United States for sale. For consumers, this means that they are not entitled to any WARRANTY. Personally, I don't like spending four hundred dollars to have DavisMAX scam me and get no guarantees. Both Davis MAX and Revain act like they're doing me a favor by sending the lens back for free. For those of you reading this, beware of DavisMAX, but also of Revain. Revain needs to take a closer look at the integrity of its suppliers. When I spoke to Tamron's customer service/warranty department, I wasn't the first customer complaint. Unfortunately not number 10 for this support person.
