Review on Enhanced Stens Spark Plug Boot 135-081 | Briggs & Stratton Compatible 4124, 493880, 493880S, 66538, 66538S by Eric Wright

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The connection is not made of brass, but can still be soldered.

The usual way to terminate these connections is to strip about 0.5" of insulation from the ignition wire and attach it, then crimp the terminal over the wire/insulation. It's fast, messy, and results in an unreliable connection that fails over time. I actually intended to solder the wire to the terminal and the product photos strongly suggested they were made of brass. I was very disappointed when I they received and they weren't actually brass but they were still solderable which is why I'm giving them 4 stars. Also, I've used this on a Honda GX series motor, although this case doesn't look like stock and doesn't include the 4.5K ohm resistor. I wanted a really hot spark and that was the cheapest way. Now the engine runs better than ever.

Pros
  • Coil caps on plug
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
