Plugged it in and it worked right away. It's amazing to have a screen that doesn't need 5 other elements just to connect it to the PI. I am building a custom case for the Pi and the screen and this screen should work just fine. The brightness is good but the only way to adjust it is via command but that's ok. As mentioned, the ribbon cable is an oddity with this purchase. Both connectors are on the same side, so using a regular cable won't work. The only thing I would like to see are the cables that can be purchased with the device. The cable that comes with it is about 4 inches long, so it works, but it would be nice to use a longer cable. After seeing many answers to questions from the company, I decided to tell them. I asked how much an 8-10 inch cable would cost. I got the answer that they don't have them which is a big disappointment. Still works great, just a shame you can't find a bigger cable anywhere.
