The original design was a plastic pulley with a pressed bush turning on a lubricated metal shaft. Operating this type of configuration in a hot environment under constant spring and belt pressure will only result in the escape of lubricant and the generation of a large amount of heat between the metal shaft and the rotating bushing that holds the rotating pulley. This heat soon reaches such a high level that the plastic pulley melts and the metal bushing grinds, releasing even more heat. Then the melting disk is separated from the metal sleeve, the dryer fails. This upgraded ball bearing pulley has a much better design. First, the sleeve is replaced with a ball bearing. A ball bearing can handle heavy loads and can help reduce friction. The next point is that the ball bearing assembly is a sealed assembly. This prevents dirt from entering the ball bearing and keeps the ball bearing grease inside. Thus, the heat in the environment will not cause the thinner lubricant to leak out of the ball bearing assembly. Ball bearing lubrication ensures long life and the bearing design itself helps to keep frictional heat to a minimum. Both go hand in hand to ensure a long service life. These pulleys are used in a number of models. There are many failures. So fix it again with this sealed roller bearing and you won't be replacing it in 10, 12 or 18 months. A very good decision.
