Review on 🚗 Gates 45005 Automotive Water Pump by Matt Chirila

Bought to replace my original pump as I found a slow leak on one of the seals. No problems out of the box and all the old hardware fits very well with no problems. I went ahead and bought a thermostat housing because why not just start from scratch? All in all, the installation was pretty easy, I even took the opportunity to just swap out the A/C belt as long as I had extra room to move. The biggest PITA was removing the old hoses without tearing or breaking them, but I got them out with little effort, which is to be expected. I recommend having a couple of buckets or a larger sump because even if you blast the lines there will still be a lot of coolant spilling out of them and Dex-Cool is quite aggressive and can cause a slippery surface. Dirty work, but I would do it again. This pup comes without instructions, so make sure you have a YouTube video handy if you need one.
