My under cabinet light is about 10 years old. I've changed blown lightbulbs so many times I've just given up. They cost more than headlights. They cost more than electrics. I took the last blown bulb to Home Depot - it was $8 each to replace. Lowes - 9.50 each. I only have 3 headlights but holy moth! I took the bulb to a lighting store where we bought flashlights. They had 3 packs at $30. Forget it. I don't need such bad lighting under the closet. Then I checked here on Revain. For real? 8 bulbs for the price of one? is this a joke? Illusion? No and no. Now I'm a little scared of starting a fire by leaving the under cabinet lights on knowing that this type of lamp tends to get hot. I chose a lower light/watt equivalent because my lamps have a high and low light switch on each lamp - mood lighting for a coffee pot of love I guess. Anyhow, it's great. They work well on both high and low settings in each of my lights, so I think they will work well if you have a dimmer or something. They are bright enough for cabinets as they are not my main lighting in the kitchen. I can't say anything about the durability yet, but I'm very satisfied with the pears, the fit and the price. One caveat: these bulbs last longer if you don't touch them with bare skin - always use rubber gloves when handling new bulbs. It was the advice of an electrician who told me that something in the oil on your skin would cause such a bulb to burn out faster. I'm not sure if that's true, but I put on a medical rubber glove just in case.
