Review on Design, Create, and Quilt: A Comprehensive Guide to Designing Quilts with Lessons, Techniques, and Patterns by Linda Diaz

Insufficient guidance

This book is beautifully designed but very difficult to read. As a beginner at quilting, the instructions seemed too schematic to me. I went out and spent a decent amount of money to buy all the materials needed for the first project. Following the instructions in the letter, I ended up with unlined bags that don't really look finished. The instructions also require that the tying be done last, after the tab is attached. How it works? I couldn't rebind the closing tab. Maybe someone with more experience knows how to do this. I'm really hesitant to try more projects at this point and feel like trying to create my magic folder, messed up some pretty fabrics. barbara
