This drive is a bit slow for a modern USB drive. It costs over a dollar per gigabyte, while similarly sized drives cost half as much and larger drives cost a quarter as much. this is expensive for GB.But. It has a write protect switch. That's why you need this disk. You need this drive, but you don't need it for documents, photos, and moving data around. You need it for emergency utilities and recovery toolkits, programs that Windows Defender / Sophos / Macafee / etc. mistakenly (or might work for) consider malware and automatically remove it as soon as you plug in the drive. Put the tools on disk, "allow" them to enter your system, then toggle this switch. Put the toolkit where it's needed (like mom's confused outdated computers), plug it in, get a warning BUT the system can't delete the files. And I managed to fix their systems. Some Windows software sources can be found at NirSoft, PortableApps and SysInternals. There are others, but they'll get you started with an easy-to-use, powerful, portable toolbox.
