This has both advantages and disadvantages. I'll start with the positives: — It's very well made, with a well-finished metal body instead of the usual molded plastic — Sound quality is good, recording is clear with no noticeable distortion. The output level isn't impressive, but it's workable. The cable is long enough and has a standard 3-pin DIN microphone connector. It terminates with a 3.5mm stereo jack that also WORKS with the 3.5mm MONO microphone jack typical of most PC sound cards. (I'll try the line-in as well, though.) - The rubber bushing mic suspension is well thought out and isolates the mic from most transmitted vibrations. - The switch is simple, positive, default and immune to sticking issues. On the other hand, there are disadvantages: - Sensitivity is a problem. The mic comes with an optional second windscreen on the arm, but you probably won't be able to use it as it's too far from the mic to get a decent input signal. The included tripod is fine for a tabletop tripod, but it's very short and it's not immediately obvious whether the rubber-mounted Smart Mic Mount will fit on a taller tripod or flexible arm. The tripod is very light and a bit unbalanced with the microphone in the place where you can reach the switch. , and it takes very little to flip it back. Come on, ask me how I know. All in all a very good budget mic with a simple but clever vibration isolator, but you'll probably want to use it with a better tripod or gooseneck. But then EIVOTOR will sell you a microphone, not a tripod. Don't expect a fancy tripod here. The presence of a tripod in the kit is a freebie, along with an excellent microphone. Technical thug verdict: two thumbs up.
