I think a lot of these bad reviews are because people didn't follow the directions. When you get it, you need to take the time to separate the foam pieces. You don't need to open the zipper, you can just "massage" it in different places until it's all broken apart. You must also wait for it to fully expand; I waited 2 days. After 2 days the mattress was nice and fluffy and provided good support. It's pretty easy to get into the bean bag compartment and looks nice in the corner of the office. I think it will be perfect for an extra guest bed. Only regret is getting the full size instead of the queen. I can see it being difficult for 2 adults to sleep on the full size.
