Outstanding brightness for the price! it would be. As someone who's bought fairly cheap flashlights my whole life I wasn't expecting much from it as I've bought similar flashlights at this price point that were twice as bright as this one. Yes there are brighter lights out there but you pay a lot more. Honestly, I took this flashlight on a hike and I don't think I'll need anything brighter than this. Maybe if you're on a search and rescue team, but for regular camping this light is more than enough. It's far brighter than any flashlight I've ever owned (although admittedly all the flashlights I buy are $10 or less). The light is also very strong and durable. It's compact and lightweight, which is great for a hiker like me, but it doesn't feel cheap. I reviewed several flashlights on Revain before finally deciding on this one and am glad I made that choice. By the way, I did NOT get any discount for writing this review, I'm actually very happy with the brightness.
