I bought two of these batteries and neither worked immediately after purchase. I have found that the batteries charge very well when inserted directly into the base without a controller. But when you put the batteries in the controller and plugged the controller into the base, it didn't charge at all. I managed to solve the problem so I decided to leave it and give it three stars. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars. It turns out there are pins on the base that mate with metal pads on the battery. When the battery is installed in the controller, the battery is slightly higher at the base, so the contact points are too low. I was able to bend the pins towards the back of the base with pliers. I moved them back about 30% after unplugging the unit. This completely solved the problem for me. Now everything works great. This is much more convenient than constantly changing batteries. Just take it with you and go. The price is good too. However, I bought two of these and neither of them worked right away. That's why I'm giving this three stars instead of 5. It might have been a bad batch as it works for others. But the quality control is clearly not in order.
