Review on GODESON Presta Tire Pressure Gauge: Accurate and Reliable Presta Valve Tire Pressure Measurement by Lance Story

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Accurate, useful, looks cool. Chunky.

This is a great presta air pressure gauge. I have been using an old Joe Blow pump with a gauge (that is fairly vague to read on pressures below 20) for several years now with my Specialized tubeless setups. I have been using lower and lower pressures as I have been using wider rims and tires with stiffer sidewalls (Flow mk3, Specialized Butcher and Eliminator 29 Grid Trails). I probably could have gone with the 15, but felt like hedging my bets with the 30. Turns out my Joe Blow gauge was accurate enough for my 12.5/15 lbs psi setup by just eyeballing and estimating, but I like this gauge, especially the pressure release button that lets me get the exact number I want. It’s rugged feeling—definitely for the trunk gear bag and not the Calmelbak. I like that the pressure reading stays until I press the blow-off button. I have only used this on a few rides, it’s a bit superfluous for my uses, but I love it! Maybe I’ll use it to really explore fine tuning my psi on a ride-to-ride basis.

Pros
  • Works very good and able to dial pressure in within 1psi
Cons
  • The hose is not detachable, which can make it difficult to store or transport the gauge in a compact manner
