Not suitable for use with a timer where single mode is required

Purchased for use with a timer in a stable-on configuration. It's impossible to go through all the options until you reach the right one without stepping outside. Every time the headlights are turned off and on, they turn on with the factory default settings, which constantly cycle through all the lighting settings. To turn on the desired steady light we must go outside, find the controller (perhaps in a pile of snow and probably frozen) and hold down the selector until we get to the desired option. These are good lights, but they don't take into account the real needs of the user.
