First order defective

Love these lights! Unfortunately, the first set was defective. I couldn't get it to only play in one mode even after following the instructions. Decided to return for a new set. The new set worked well. The new set was packaged differently, so I'm wondering if the first set was ever sent back. It is very difficult to unwind a long line of lights. I'm not sure what will make things easier, but it's frustrating. Despite everything, I still love the lights and would order them again for the price.

Not suitable for use with a timer where single mode is required

Purchased for use with a timer in a stable-on configuration. It's impossible to go through all the options until you reach the right one without stepping outside. Every time the headlights are turned off and on, they turn on with the factory default settings, which constantly cycle through all the lighting settings. To turn on the desired steady light we must go outside, find the controller (perhaps in a pile of snow and probably frozen) and hold down the selector until we get to the desired…

Have you always wanted to know without being asked whether your neighbors have epilepsy?

Every time these lights are turned off, say by a timer, the lighting mode resets to the first mode, which I call "Find out which of your neighbors has epilepsy" mode. Twice my neighbors knocked on my door to tell me about these lamps and her epilepsy, which is fair anyway, but what was this company thinking?
