Works one way only - connects to a DP PC, not a DP monitor

This isn't a blow to the manufacturer, but it would be nice to know. I bought in preparation for sending a group of people to work from home so they could use multiple DP monitors from the office. I figured plug it into the DP port on the monitor and then go to my laptops via HDMI. works great for some teams that had a DP PC but an HDMI monitor. It just doesn't work the other way around.
