Too Slippery for Me

I bought these as an alternative to leather gymnastics grips for WOD barre work. At first I struggled with the size of the finger holes and had to cut more of them. I don't consider my fingers huge (I wear a size 10.5 engagement ring) but to get them all through the finger holes I almost cut a giant hole. When it was done there wasn't much tissue left between my fingers and the holes were still tight. Then I went to the gym. I smeared tons of chalk and jumped up to grab the bar and do a couple of pull ups. My hands fell off the bar the first time I tried the butterfly pullup with this grip. I redrew the chalk and tried several times thinking I had made a mistake or a trick. nope I tore them off and walked with my bare hands. I finally don't trust them enough to use them for this kind of movement. The pad is comfortable for your hand and the wrist wrap offers good support, but I wouldn't recommend it for this type of barbell work. They can work well for weightlifting, but I prefer bare hands and chalk for this, so I haven't tried it.
