Air leak at top side seam

I used the board one time, but never looked for air leaks. The second time in the middle of our paddling I noticed water bubbling at the top side seam. It was a tiny leak, but I never did anything to cause damage to the board. We were paddling around an island so i had to finish the trip with an air leak. It was noticeably deflated and less stable by the end of our trip. We were on Lake Michigan and launched from a sandy beach where there was nothing to cause damage. Not only that, but the air leak is on the top side seam, so even if there were rocks or sticks in the water it wouldn't explain how the air leak developed on the top seam that sits out of the water. I know it came with a patch kit, but I'm not comfortable using the board knowing that an air leak developed for no specific reason. That to me just screams that the quality isn't where it should be. I'm definitely returning this board and buying from a different brand. I'm so thankful this happened within the 30 day return window.
