Review on 🔧 Gates 42579 Premium Engine Water Pump: Enhance Your Engine's Cooling System by Ted Slaughter

The impeller on this Gates pump broke in my Porsche 911 after just over a year of use, causing massive overheating on the track. 5 of the 6 blades are broken off and the rest of the impeller is free to spin independently of the pulley. I can't find any broken parts in the engine and now I have to decide between disassembling my engine or risking bursting Porsche cylinder heads due to uneven coolant flow. Unfortunately I installed another Gates pump in my other Porsche (Boxster) which rubbed against the engine block and wouldn't spin freely as another reviewer mentioned after I replaced it with one that had dents in the flange which I smoothed out would have. and was used because the replacement came with a bearing with obvious end play. Worst purchase in a long time as it could have cost me almost $10,000 in car damage.
