My photos answer a question I wanted answered before ordering: does this sharpener shorten the overall length of the pencil, or does it just trim the sides? The pencil on the left was sharpened using the long point setting. It features a long, sharp point that is slightly shorter than the other two pencils. The pencil in the center was sharpened in blunt point mode. As you can see in the photo, the pencil in the middle stays exactly the same length as the unsharpened pencil on the right.
