Very poor quality terminals

I used this cable to connect my headphones to my TV. When I first used it I thought something was wrong with my headphones so I decided to use a second pair of headphones. The problem remained, whenever the headphone cable was plugged into the jack on this cable, there was no sound anywhere. I would have to stretch the cable out to an extent to try and get some sound and ended up with sound on one side of the headphones. I ended up cutting off the terminals, buying new ones from a local store and soldering the wire. This was the only solution to the problem.
