Good all metal hardware. The template simplifies the installation. I don't understand complaints about spindles that are too long or springs that are too strong. My guess is that the previous holder had a plastic spindle with a weaker spring. Also, I would recommend NOT using the anchors that come with it as I've found that this guy will eventually weaken. We recommend purchasing EZ Ancor Twist-N-Lock anchors for any drywall installation. They come in a variety of sizes and provide a very strong attachment point. Although the instructions say no drilling is required, I drilled small pilot holes to make the installation a little easier and more accurate. The exception is when the attachment point coincides with the wall bar.
