Good all metal hardware. The template simplifies the installation. I don't understand complaints about spindles that are too long or springs that are too strong. My guess is that the previous holder had a plastic spindle with a weaker spring. Also, I would recommend NOT using the anchors that come with it as I've found that this guy will eventually weaken. Looks good. Easy installation. I did NOT use a template based on other reviews; I agree that the location of the screws is too close together. I spaced the screws just under 8 inches apart to hold them securely and allow for easy removal of the center shaft. Simply install one end and check placement/tension before installing the other end.
