Review on πŸ“ Gulick Attachment for CanDo Baseline Measurement by Moises Dzihic

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Needs some improvements.

At first I was happy with this tool. In college we used this to assess fit and my professor even recommended this tape measure with a Gulick nozzle for accuracy. Unfortunately, the end of my band broke on Tuesday while measuring a client's weight loss. never mind; I've had it for 2 years and it probably had to fall apart at some point. However, when I got the TWO new tapes for basic measurements, the Gulick nozzle was different: it required more pressure to get to the line, which is also deeper in the metal. The first one I tried broke the plastic that the Gulick attachment is connected to, which I can only suspect because it's a flimsy piece of plastic and the new attachment requires so much pressure it can't hold up. Not only that, but my clients ended up increasing in number, which is VERY confusing as almost all of them lost inches and lost weight that week. Since my original device broke, I opened up the blue plastic and compared the inch/centimeter lines of the old and new tape. My old band has stretched to the point where it will add over an inch to the client's chest and up to a half inch to the arm depending on the size of the person. Because the new Gullick lure has too much spring and the line goes too far I had to use the old lure for the new band. I believe if the tape was a bit thicker for this product and the plastic that connects to the metal gullick mount it would be a lot better.

Pros
  • Measuring and Marking Tools
Cons
  • So far so good
