The photos show the condition of the shoe after a year and a half of rough riding. Overall the shoes are good. VERY sticky on pedals when new. After a year and a half of operation, the sole cracked badly. Although they don't grip the pedals like they used to, they're still sticky enough for some rough rides. These shoes have also proven incredibly useful for protection. I was hit hard in the foot on a tight turn on a ledge. The sock material was strong enough to withstand the full force of the impact without injuring the foot. It would hurt me a lot if they were just covered wagons.
