The strapping appears to damage the cassettes
Each 5-pack is tied with plastic strapping. I believe that the pressure from the belts deforms the top and bottom cartridges in the pack enough to permanently disrupt correct tape travel in the affected cartridges. I keep finding affected tapes not working properly (e.g. incomplete image, repeated tape write speed changes, inaccurate timestamps).
