My problem with most mittens is that they are made for women's delicate hands. OK. I'll admit that most users are probably housewives with smaller hands than me, but as a man with big hands who loves to cook, finding the "right glove" isn't easy. I bought these hoping that they would be big enough to fit my hands and still give me a good grip on the pan and prevent burns even if the glove gets wet. Not only do they fit perfectly, they do a great job of protecting my hands from hot food, and the silicone surfaces are designed to stay in place and provide a secure grip. They are flexible enough to hold the shell with ease. Besides, they just look good! Pot holders are not a decorative item for me. they should be functional, not floral, so to speak. They match my decor perfectly and I would definitely order them again. If I had a problem with mittens, I would point to a metal ring to hang the product from. If you forget your oven mitts and leave them on or near the stove, these rings heat up surprisingly quickly. I've only made that mistake once. I slipped my hand into the mitten and the hot ring fell onto my hand, reminding me how much heat the rest of the mitten would insulate. I thought about cutting the rings, but instead I was more careful about where I put my gloves near the oven.
