Review on AOC E2343FK Widescreen LCD Monitor 1920X1080, 75Hz, Wide Screen, Enhanced E2343Fk by Luck Hurst

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Disappointing picture quality

I bought this monitor at a very good price at a hardware store. The whole assembly was very easy and the base felt solid. I liked that the connections were on the base and not on the monitor itself. The mounting lever bends a lot. It shakes from bumps, but should be fine with normal use. In the factory settings, the image was very bright. Many elements looked washed out, and thinner lines on white pages (e.g. a web page form with a white background) tended to blend into them. Went through several stages of calibration and everything looked pretty good, although still too bright. Reducing the brightness further only washed out the color. There was a significant number of light spots on both side edges as well as a significant amount along the bottom edge. This caused the bottom quarter of the screen to be too bright and blurry. Especially with dark windows, a clear darkening towards the bottom could be seen. There's a chance that the flashing is due to a bad device, but in general the display quality wasn't that impressive. I debated swapping it for another of the same model and figured it out, but the local store was all sold out. Instead, I opted for the slightly smaller LG E2242T (at the same price) and am very pleased so far. Out of the box, the image quality was slightly better than that of the E2343FK, and the calibration only increased the difference. Advantages: - Price - Light - Light - Connections at the base.
