I wanted to wait longer before writing a review but then again I wrote a 5 star review after owning the flashlight for 4 months only to die at 6 months , so I'll update my review if I have problems. I wanted to note that this seems to have a higher temperature capability than other butane torches I've used. Most likely what you burn will turn red hot faster. This may or may not be a problem. One thing you can do is not crank this flashlight to full blast as the flame is likely to be twice the size of the GT8000 Big Shot even before you open it 100%. I think it would help to limit the flame to about the same size in the Big Shot. It's a really powerful flashlight and well built. You can use it a lot, and while the plastic top is too hot to touch on other models, the vent over the fire handle/button rarely gets hot. Don't leave it there though, if you turn the burner off abruptly a tiny flame may erupt from the wider opening right at the bonnet connection, even if you prefer to leave the burner up. You still won't be holding it that high for that reason, but since it's vented for safety, I wouldn't recommend leaving it there. The biggest complaint is that the fire button and handle are in opposite places than many butane torches, so my muscle memory always tries to press the handle first. If it can withstand heavy use for at least half a year, I swear by this flashlight.
