Bought for a couple with a gold PS4 and so far it's working well. It's only been a week and no problems. Moved the content to the drive, installed some new games on it and everything works fine. I haven't done a direct 1:1 comparison of boot time between an internal drive and using it over USB. Comes with some installers on disk for backup software; copied to make sure I have the most free space. I tried using this to back up my PS3 before upgrading to a 1TB WD Black internal hard drive, but the PS3 will not recognize a drive larger than 1TB, either internal or external. . I even tried deleting all the partitions from that 4TB WD drive and putting a 1TB partition on it, but the PS3 still didn't recognize it. So get ready. Windows 7 was also plug and play; there are no problems.
