I'm glad I chose this one, made life a little easier

The KMV switch works as advertised, it allows me to easily switch between work and PC. I ordered the Hot Switch model, with this feature you can press a combination of keys to switch the input to another computer and back. You press the "Ctrl" key twice and either the "1" key for the first input or the "2" key for the second input, depending on which input you are currently using. The switch also has a button that can be used to switch inputs to another computer. The switch is small, so it doesn't take up much space. It comes with 2 x USB A to USB B cables about 5ft long and a 5ft HDMI cable, so you will need to buy 2 extra USB cables if you don't already have them . The switch has two USB inputs: one for the keyboard and one for the mouse. I'm using a Logitech Unifying wireless receiver and have it configured to accept mouse and keyboard signals, leaving the other input on the KMV switch unused. I can use an open USB port on the switch for a shared flash drive. (Note: only flash drives will work as they draw very little power, large hard drives draw a lot of power to run reliably). The switch does not require any power supply as it is powered by any computer via a USB cable. that the HDMI cable doesn't state if it's 4K compatible. and the USB cable seam chirps. Basically an excellent device.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
