Review on Yottamaster 4 Bay RAID External Hard Drive Enclosure 2 by Patrick Mccall

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice unit Computer Accessories and Peripherals

I received a 5-bay raid case. How to format and edit a raid. Change the dip switches on the back first, don't turn them on yet. Then there is a hole for a reset pin, take a paperclip and put it in, hold it, turn it on, count to 10, you will hear a beep, once this beep is over you count to 10 to the end, now it will be configured for the raid you need. Then follow the prompts to format and initialize the drive(s). If your drives are not suitable for formatting, you need to go to Disk Management and find them there. I've found that if you do the dip switches on the back and change them from what they had, I did 3 down 1 up as raid 0 and then turn it on, it doesn't do anything, it raises both hard drives. I turned it off, used a paperclip to press the sleep button, then turned it back on while still pressing the reset button, counted to 10, and waited for the beep to stop. Then it really hit the ground running. Then it actually merged my hard drives into one. Then I formatted it. I formatted as GPT and then NTFS as Plain.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
