I love that I can just put a Fluke probe and this thing in my pocket and be able AND test the signal with a device (put Fluke simply to analog mode). And if I need a digital or stronger analog tint, I can get rid of the randomness in my car. But what I don't like is that when you press the tone button, you can choose which wire or pairs or all pairs the tone is sent to. And if you long-press the tone button, you can set it to a low tone, a high tone, or both (the variety we're all used to). So you can set it up however you like - maybe send a tone to all pairs and HiLo and you'll be toning your line. it is 7 or 8 times to return all pairs, . kind of trouble. Now again I plan to use this only intermittently so I think everything will be fine. But it's still a bit annoying. Edit: I just discovered a week later that I can tint (press and hold) on the original Lan Scout. It's also quite noisy.
