I have been using this ribbon since I last moved. The movers used it for EVERYTHING! After researching I found out that the product's secret lies in its ability to stick to paper products (like boxes) - the type of glue used. If you take a look at the Shur Tape website you will see how the tapes differ, the expected duration of each tape, the types of surfaces each type is best for, etc. Pretty interesting! Other tapes that are MUCH thicker and labeled "Heavy Duty" or "Storage" MAY be thicker, but since they will NOT stick to boxes/other paper products (for more than a few weeks) they will start to sag and eventually break . . So strength is NOT everything! It's the adhesion that makes this product so special. Opinion: HP 200 Tape is available in brown and clear. They have the same properties, but brown is superior to more transparent.
