Works and fits as expected

Installed on a 2001 7.3 Excursion 4wd. Installation took 5 minutes, the car drives smoothly. Not sure there will be much improvement as my factory shock wasn't fully blown out but with almost 200,000 miles on it I'm doing my best to keep the steering firm.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some bugs

Bilstein makes great shock absorbers!

Excellent steering stabilizer. The one on my 2002 Ford F-250 was completely shot. When I took it off I put it on and it stayed. Definitely better on the road. Go and buy it, I'm sure the car needs it. My truck had 175,000 when I replaced it, but I should have done it a long time ago.

Pros
  • Beautiful thing
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled

Perfect for F250 6.0 PSD

The steering wheel had a little play, put it on and remove the play. I'll end up installing Bilsteins all over the truck instead of the ranches that fall on the FX4's power stroke. I would recommend this product for a steering upgrade, the only thing is that it should come with a boot lid to keep road grime and debris out.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Something different

A big improvement over the Cross Country shock I had

I have to admit I was nervous when it arrived and realized it was gas pressurized. I just thought it would pull the truck to the left. Well that didn't happen at all. There is no "transition" when turning from one direction to the other. My alter felt like there was a dead zone in the middle. worth your money.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • So far so good

Big improvement on a 2001 F250

I've been having issues with the steering play on my 2001 Ford F-250 for a while. I've tightened the steering column a few times and still noticed that the steering was very squirrelly. I finally bought it and it helped me a lot. While I still have some steering play due to steering gear wear, the steering has tightened and smoothed out a bit.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • hard to tell

New impressions of the excursion steering wheel (05 Excursion 4wd).

I am using a Ford Excursion 05 (4WD) for this item. Assembly was easy as it fits perfectly. My original stabilizer bar was dented and when I removed it I found it didn't do anything. So I can't say how much better the Bilstein is than the original, but it improved my steering feel significantly. It also eliminated play in the steering.

Pros
  • Handy Thing
Cons
  • Exorbitant Piggy Bank

Excellent goods. On my 2000 it was easy to install.

Excellent product. This was easy to install on my 2000 Ford F-350 Super Duty CC SWB 4x4. This item replaced the old Explorer block which was leaking after over 10 years. If we compare them side by side, the Bilstein block looks better. Removing the old stabilizer bar mounting bolts was the only tricky part of the installation. The fasteners eventually gave way to the PB blaster and impact wrench. The new stabilizer is on the mend. I used a standard Ford cross member mount. I didn't have to…

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

Doesn't work properly, lets the truck wander.

This damper applies outward pressure, fighting the steering and causing the truck to sway. I have completely restored the front end, all ball joints, tie rods, steering rack, wheel bearings, etc., all new and calibrated. I couldn't figure out why it was wandering until I released the damper, whereupon it magically moved straight ahead. Tried a cheap Monroe shock from a parts store just for comparison, the truck drives great. I contacted Bilstein with the issue and they say it works as intended…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Not all fit
