I bought this cable to connect a thunderbolt dock to my laptop so the protruding cable doesn't stick out the side of the laptop 3" and maybe snag on something and possibly Break the USB-C connector. I now have a nice right-angle dongle that only sticks out 3/4" from the side, and my heavy Thunderbolt dock cable is neatly tucked away in the back of the laptop. I tried a few right angle adapters first, but the wrench is much better and puts less strain on the connector. I liked it so much that I bought a second one for my other laptop. The build quality seems to be very good and USB-C fits very well on both ends, as it should. I have attached some photos so you can see the setting and better understand the reason for the purchase. Right angle keys are necessary so things don't stick out sideways. I tested an external USB-C enclosure with an NVME SSD both with and without this right-angle dongle, and benchmarks showed no degradation in read/write speeds. Speed. I could only measure Thunderbolt 2 and USB 3.2 speeds. You need to test your Thunderbolt 3 devices to see if there is a speed difference. I'm not sure if this is actually a certified Thunderbolt 3 cable, but it seems to meet my needs. Advantages: Good processing quality, Frees up your ports, fits things you plug and unplug frequently to reduce wear and tear on your laptop port. Disadvantages: none.
