My Surface Pro 7 has an "empty" USB-C port, all the USB-C based cables I've tried to connect to an external monitor weren't tight enough, to enable a seamless connection the external monitor. I have to align the other cables so that they are at a certain angle to the USB-C connector so that the external monitor does not go blank. This cable works like magic, it's very tight and surface movement doesn't interrupt the display on an external monitor. That's a great relief! I recommend it to anyone

I bought this to connect a Thunderbolt dock to a laptop so the excess wire doesn't stick out the side of the 3 inch laptop and something might get caught and maybe break the USB-C connector. I now have a nice right angle dongle that only sticks out 3/4" from the side and my heavy Thunderbolt dock cable neatly tucked away in the back of the laptop.
